Director Karan Johar was a part of the AIB Roast because of which he has now been summoned by Mumbai Police to record his statement. The AIB event was held in December 2014 at Worli's NSCI and was made live on Youtube in January 2015. The show was in controversies because of its vulgar content.

Police officer from Tardeo Police Station says, "We have summoned Karan Johar, which essentially means he will have to come to the Tardeo police station to give his statement. His statement will be an important part of the charge sheet that is yet to be submitted to the court."
