IN PICS: TV Actress Kavita Kaushik's Haldi Ceremony

By

TV Actress Kavita Kaushik is having a  low-key and simple wedding. She is getting married to her long-time friend Ronnit Biswas. They are tying the knot in the temple of Kedarnath in the Garhwal Himalayas but prior to that, there was a haldi and mehendi ceremony at her residence in Mumbai. The actress has kept it a very close-knit affair with family and a few friends in attendance.

The bride Kavita wore a yellow lehenga choli with a peach dupatta. Kundan jewellery, bindi and gajra finished off her look. Ronnit was also present and looked all smiles as he posed with Aashka and Brent. The couple will fly off with an entourage of 15 people to Kedarnath where the marriage will be solemnised. One of the actress’ closest friends Aashka Goradia attended the function with fiance, Brent Goble. She looked divine in a cotton sari while Brent also opted for a kurta for the wedding. He wore a red kurta while Aashka opted for a sari in red, white and black. Another friend and TV actress Melissa Pais posted few pictures from the ceremony.

In an interview to a leading daily, Kavita Kaushik opened up on how Ronnit had been a companion when she was going through the toughest times in her life. The couple is getting married in the Himalayas, which is her favourite spot. In a statement to The Times of India, she said, “Ron and I share our love for Shiva, the Lord of destruction and the creator of life. I’ve experienced the destruction when everything was going wrong and collapsing around me and Ron gave me a new hope and new life. He saw the struggling woman behind the angry, manly Chautala and kept me alive and happy after my dad. For me, he is no less than Shiva in my life because he is my saviour. The place where we are getting married is the place where Shiva and Parvati got married, if legends are to be believed. Also, I love the mountains, have trekked a lot and I’m happiest when I’m doing that, so there is no other place for me more suitable than the Himalayas."
