Store Tour & Collection Preview of Bageecha (Banaras) at ShahpurJat, Delhi

By

The very stunning woven heritage of Benares finds its mention in Rig Veda. The weaves find its name written next to the god as the holy & the emperors in form of a gold silk cloth used it. I love these weaves for their opulence and their understated elegance and that’s why when the Quirk PR team invited me to the launch of Bageecha (Benaras) at Shahpurjat, I couldn’t be happier.  Anika Dhawan Gupta, best known for her stint with Rani Pink weddings togtehr with her husband Akshay Gupta has introduced newer shades and patterns to silk and jamawar saris with a fresh take on paisleys and motifs taking the center stage. They come from a family that has been working with the artisans for centuries now, together they are all set to revive the loom and interpret it for the new age bride and the ever enthusiastic wedding market. I missed out on the opportunity of seeing her while I was at the store but her co-designer took me through the collection and that’s why I am listing my favorite pieces from the brand Bageecha in today’s blog post.

This stunning anarkali is priced at INR 45,000 and you can also get your hands on just the dupatta for INR 9,000.

The sister of the bride can opt for this classic peach lehenga that is priced at INR 55,000 and dupatta is for INR 9,000 separately.

Add a pop of colour with this candy Pink lehenga for INR 65,000 & dupatta is available for INR 12,000.

For the saree lovers, this elegant piece is available for INR 55,000. It comes with a traditional weave that can take a few months to create.

I love this bright yellow Benarsi silk lehenga with a pink dupatta for its a great piece for your mehendi ceremony, isn't it? The lehenga is priced at INR 55,000 & the dupatta too is available for INR 25,000.

Mauve really is the colour of the season and you can own this piece for yourself for INR 55,000. This is a great (married) sister of the bride ensemble or for a bride's sangeet night. The heavy dupatta with it comes at a price of INR 35,000.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this piece for the best friend of the bride. The classic blue lehenga features a simple kalidaar skirt with a heavy dupatta (all over work) and is priced at INR 45,000 and the dupatta is available for INR 35,000.

This mint coloured dupatta featuring contemporary pattern is priced at INR 25,000. The lehenga skirt that I am wearing with it (as seen in the fetaured image) is priced at INR 80,000. It's rich, traditional and almost feels like wearing a few years of legacy. Love their wedding collection that by the way your can customize basis the colour, the dupatta combination and much more.
