There is truly no simple straight forward answer to this, because to me beauty is not just about the outside beauty of a person, it is also about the heart and what's inside the person... i know many people who look at you & may say omg they are so beautiful, but the inside does not match the outer, and many people who look at you for the first time, may not think you are beautiful to look at, but as soon as you talk to them, their inner beauty shines in their eyes, the way they speak, their intelligence... etc..and you think omg they are such a beautiful person, and also like they say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.... to me absolute beauty is in every thing if we just recognise it!!!!!!!! #GuiltyBytesTurns3

We all strive to be perfect with our outer looks and who doesn't want to. But imperfection is the real beauty. Real beauty lies in how you would look in your pyjamas and bhoot hair without makeup than how you'd look in that pretty Zara or Forever 21 dress or your favorite saree or choli.

Totally with you on this. My dad was in Air force too and till 18 years I hardly owned any makeup and still was considered the one with good looks. I started with Kajal when I was 22, Lipstick when I was 25 and Foundation etc at 28. I feel you don't need makeup to look pretty. Yes, makeup adds a nice overall layer and makes you look polished and nice but it is no good if you don't have good mannerism and confidence. Today also I step out confidently with just a kajal and lipstick, all I need is to just be presentable.

When it comes to beauty all I thought
about was beautiful women doing the catwalk on the run way, maybeline and
Victoria secert models. I think that we were all in the age in which
(especially all the girls) were concerned with our looks and our bodies. I most
admit that before I use to think about beautiful people as girls/boys with a
lovely face, but it's true true beauty counts on what's inside. I mean you can
have the most prettiest girl, but with the most ugliest personality. That's
what make people truly ugly, whats inside. I have this friend, she not the best
looking person in the world, but she has such great personilty, so admirable,

#GulityBytesTurns3.There is truly no simple straight forward answer to this, because to me beauty is not just about the outwardness of a person it is also about the heart and what's inside the person... i know many people who to look you may say omg they are so beautiful, but the inside does not match the outer, and many people who looking at first time you may not think they are beautiful to look at , but as soon as you talk with them their inner beauty shines in their eyes they way they move etc... and you think omg they are such a beautiful person, and also like many have said in the eyes of the beholder.... to me there is absolute beauty in every thing it's just if we recognise it.Real beauty isn't just about being born pretty and having a good figure. It is so much more. People can be beautiful when they have a wonderful smile and are happy with themselves. They radiate a glow which makes them stand out from the crowd. Beauty can also be in a voice which is calming and reassuring to the listener and most of all beauty can come from within a person. Someone who is helpful, kind and has time for others also have their own beauty and after all looks will fade in time and if you haven't got anything else such as personality or kindness you really are a plain person in the end. Go on, smile and your whole face lights up and your eyes shine ...... you are beautiful aren't you?????

Hi Devina! I came across your blog by following the link TBS posted on their Instagram page. I honestly thought it must one of those usual giveaways but I'm so glad I clicked the link :)
It was just today that my dad mentioned how my make-up looked a bit overdone at a family function, 3 yrs back. The point came up for discussion as we were finalising our makeup options for my sister's wedding next month.
I told him the exact same thing that you've mentioned. That I'm allowed to make mistakes and that's how I'll learn. I had just completed first year of med school then and will now start my internship. Through all these years, what I have realised the most is no matter how you look, what people really need is a kind heart and a thoughtful person.
My definition of beauty has evolved from the "perfect hourglass figure and flawless skin" to "being someone who really cares about people and is at peace with themselves."
When you are happy with yourself and live every moment, that's when beauty sparkles out of you.
Beauty does not lie in your complexion or your figure. Yes, they do help in giving a good first impression. But for lasting joy and for true beauty, that youthful spirit is what is required.
I believe my definition is still in evolution, but for now, I'll stick with my instincts, spread joy and laugh. That sparkle of happiness in the eyes is the definition of beauty for me :)

Some folks think that beauty is only makeup, slathering yourself with what not, to look exceptionally alluring. Some define beauty as the inner soul itself alone, without considering the outer self; the appearance. Do these actually explain the concept of beauty? I disagree. (No offence please!)


Beauty is something everybody, every soul has, once the take their first breath on this 'gola' (PK effect, pardon :P) A newborn baby is beautiful, for their parents. The same baby, after fifty decades is still beautiful; despite the sagging skin, the wrinkled hands,the smile will have the warmth. This is beauty.


I am obsessed with particular 'beauty' products aka makeup, that i cannot live without. Also my precious clothes and shoes, without which I cannot even survive. :D I love doing makeup since I consider it as an art that not everybody can perfect at, not to slather myself with all foundations and cremes. It is something that you need when there is a necessity to wear a mask at times. You have to be yourself, but being yourself all the time, with everybody can sometimes be your downfall. I can vouch this from my personal experience. I do makeup, a dab of powder here and there and a dash of kajal and lipgloss. To look expressive, to grab one's attention while I am talking to somebody. Grooming is extremely essential to appear decent and presentable in a crowd. At the same time I don't forget what I actually am, what I am capable of. My Originality is beauty to me.


Those in the glamorous Bollywood industry, whom I of course adore are also beautiful and expressive as I am and as all of you are. I keep admiring their new shade of lipcolor, their fab dress and their lifestyles. But lost in the glamour, they forget to be themselves, their Originality.


At the same time I never forget to be true to myself, doing what I love and being kind and honest to everyone. Kindness comes from a beautiful heart. Beauty is kindness and being true to yourself (forget others :D No don't!)
Doesn't matter if you are seen by someone in your 'not-so-good' sweatpants state, because the one who knows you truly will not mind and see you as the same 'beautiful' girl with a chic dress with that dab of makeup.
The definition in the dictionary is incomplete, as per my views.

Coming to my thoughts on BEAUTY..This is my take on beauty-
Most people think that beauty is only skin deep. They feel that beauty is based on appearance alone. I on the other hand think differently. I think when most of us “feel” most beautiful is when we’re confident, when we’re happy, when we’re doing something that is kind and compassionate and loving; something that doesn’t necessarily have to do with our appearance.

Beauty is all about what is on a person's inside. Inside beauty consists of the person's love for themselves, their love for others, and finally their personality.

Being beautiful means knowing that you are beautiful. As a famous quote goes," People often say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing you are the beholder."

A beautiful person, in my eyes, loves the person that they are and will be.They accept their imperfections gracefully as they know beauty and imperfections go together wonderfully.

They value their life and cherish each breath taken.

Beautiful people think, say, and do positive things and try to stay away from negativity.

A beautiful person notices the beauty in others as well as himself or herself. Showing generosity and love to others reflects one's beauty.

Being kind hearted and helping others who are less fortunate than us shows person's beauty as well.

It means beauty is beyond skin, it's in the soul.

An individual whose smile is open and whose expression is glad has a kind of beauty no matter what he/she wears.

Make up products simply add to one's beauty and surely one's beauty is not dictated by makeup, clothes and accessories they wear.

That just because the face on the outer body may look one way it does not describe what's going on, on the inside, which is the kind heart. The good friend, the helper, the lover. That one stands by you like no other. The family member you have that is always giving the extra mile. The one for you in a pinch, one that will not tell your business to others. Beauty is not by the way you look on the outside but the way you look and make one feel on the inside. Some may say it is the outside of beauty that makes them want that one person. Everyone is beautiful in there own wayThere is truly no simple straight forward answer to this, because to me beauty is not just about the outwardness of a person it is also about the heart and what's inside the person... i know many people who to look you may say omg they are so beautiful, but the inside does not match the outer, and many people who looking at first time you may not think they are beautiful to look at , but as soon as you talk with them their inner beauty shines in their eyes they way they move etc... and you think omg they are such a beautiful person, and also like many have said in the eyes of the beholder.... to me there is absolute beauty in every thing it's just if we recognise it.#GuiltyBytesTurns3

It will look healthy and why one should go far take instance of Egyptian culture their culture shows how one can look beautiful and ageless with bath of milk and apply a lipstick with rose powder ...all this has to do with one s perception and humblness of heart ..when your heart is happy you won't go on kill spree to kill an animal and make a jacket of his skin to define beauty of yours ...otherwise you will feed that animal and that happiness and calmness will make you look ageless and this feeling and joy of helping others will define your true beauty in the eyes of others ...

I am Rajvinder till my prsent age only mom has left in my family and getting her support and love means beauty to me ..seeing her happy face and my ability to fulfill her desires her wishes makes me beautiful ..so to conclude beauty is living and nurturing your skin from inside and rooting your body from inside in such a way that world says yes she s beautiful ...using cosmetics which is tested on animals and feeling under confident without them is living life of a barbie which people buys for status ... Instead investment in happiness and following organic way of living with blessings and surroundings of your loved ones is all beauty is about .....

She hasn't used a single makeup product and continues to look flawless till date i.e at the age of 45. Yes, she may have imperfections... but that's the beauty in it. She may have dark circles, but she won't be herself if she didn't have them!

#GuiltyBytesTurns3 My Mother is the epitome, my ultimate definition of beauty! Let me tell you why!

When I was born, my father -my birth father-gave an ultimatum to my mother-throw me out of the house or get out. This was because he and his family wanted a son to carry forward the family name! So my mother was supposed to throw me in a dustbin and carry on like I was a pest.
She refused.
She was thrown out,my father's family abandoned her,disowned her,we were thrown out of the village-this was way back in the end of 70s when the world was not as progressive as today. Even today,we know how things are in many villages and interior places. So my mother was branded a witch and what not and she had to literally run away with me in the dark of night or else we would both be killed and burned alive or worse!
She did not give up.
She dared to raise me up as a single mother, with no support whatsoever from any quarter. We lived in a 300 square meter slum room, with no amenities. She was not educated,married off in her childhood and so had no employable skills. Still she managed to find 3 jobs and worked 18 hours a day along with taking care of me ,just so I could have a better future.
She worked and worked and worked.That is all she did all her life. Fought the world and worked hard.
And while doing all this,you know what she did? She NEVER carried an ounce of anger or bitterness inside her, she never wept, she never blamed God, she never cursed anyone, she used up all her energy to make the best of whatever happened.
REAL BEAUTY shines from the soul. A soul as pure as my mother's. She has laugh lines, she has wrinkles,pigmentation, acne marks, still she smiles the most beautiful smile in the world. In her white hair, she carries THE WISDOM that makes her brain the most beautiful, in her heart, she carries FORGIVENESS for everyone that makes her divinely beautiful, in every mark on her face, she carries EXPERIENCE of life -a life full of struggles that bore fruit. I cannot think of any other definition of beauty than this example of HUMANITY that I strive to emulate everyday of my life!

I can understand and relate to your thought process. The concept of beauty is often misunderstood. There is this concept of "ideal types" in our society. You are not tall enough, not thin enough , not fair enough or not curvy enough! You are never enough.No matter what it is there is always a critic , who will find faults in you. Well, guess what I don't care. I don't care if I don't have a flawless skin. I don't care if I am short or dusky or too thin or too fat. For me, I am beautiful. I am confident. I am a self respecting woman who doesn't need a validation from anyone. Not from a boy, not from another woman or the society.

I was always nagged for my dark complexion and short eyesight and not to forget short height.... That made me feel that I would always be below others and no matter how hard I tried to please everyone to feel accepted it would just boomerang back. That was my biggest mistake in life....it was tough leaving old habits behind but now for me Beauty is my Smile.....when it comes from the heart...it dazzles, sparkles and radiates a charm of its own..It appears when you are Happy from within, your heart and soul. Who you are as a person makes you beautiful not the position or the layers that brings the change......

I have never actually pondered over this question! Now when I think about this, I feel beauty is a lot more than wearing the right shade of foundation or the correct lipcolor. Not being the delicate darling was something my dad always expected of us even when my mom worried! More so because we are 3 sisters. My parents always wanted us to excel in everything, whatever we chose, except make-up :P They never wanted us to be sons, but better than sons. For them, a well-groomed personality was more important than a well-made-up face.
So for me beauty is still what they defined it for us when we were kids. Beauty is the confidence that you have even without make-up on. Beauty is believing that you are beautiful inside out, without any doubt crossing your mind :)

Well i feel "Beauty is in the HEART of the beholder"...A special girl tagged as world's most ugliest woman Lizzie Velásquez teaches us this...We always hear this beauty is not from outside and be comfortable in own skin but this girl has actually lived it...She blossomed into a thing of extraordinary beauty. Most striking is how comfortable she obviously feels in her own skin. In a culture which values appearance above all other qualities, she manages to radiate confidence and self love despite the fact that she in no way fits what is considered our beauty mold, and despite a lifetime of ridicule, harassment and cruelty. what we can learn is Beauty is being comfortable in your own skin, embracing your imperfctions while radiating the love inside you have for yourself and others. This is what i feel real beauty is.
