A tomato a day will keep skin woes away! We totally agree with this mantra and ask you to repeat this if you want to take your skin to a new level. Our skin is exposed to harsh UV rays, pollution, that often make our skin dull and tired. Also when you don't follow proper skincare routine your skin invites wrinkles, fine lines, open pores, acne, blackheads, dryness, and list is unending. You can count upon red, juicy tomato that is a powerhouse antioxidant, vitamin A, C, calcium that boost a blemish free, supple skin. We have shared different ways you can use tomato in your beauty care that will beautify your skin in wondrous ways.
1. As toner:
Tomato has Vitamin A that will fade away the dark spots, fight acne, fade acne scars, dark spots and work on giving a blemish free skin. You can DIY tomato toner by 1 tablespoon of a tomato juice and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice ( a natural astringent) and apply this liquid every morning and night on your face and notice your acne, dark spots vanish away.
2. As scrub:
Say goodbye to blackheads, whiteheads and even shrink your pores with the help of tomato. Tomato has calcium, potassium that works on the topmost layer of your skin and helps in cleansing the skin deeply. Also, tomato works on shrinking the pores, so you can take the extract of tomato and baking soda and apply it on your face for 2-3 minutes. Once it dries, with the help of water, pat your face and then gently exfoliate in a circular motion. This will remove the dead skin cells, shrink pores and reduce excessive oil, blackheads, and pimples on your face.
Tip: instead of baking soda you can even opt for sugar, oatmeal.
3. As a face pack:
Tomato is a best friend for oily skin beauties, it clears the skin and keeps bacteria at bay. Tomato is a rich source of lycopene, Vitamin B, C, magnesium that benefit the skin in a various way. Lycopene, Vitamin B, C slows down aging, help in generation of collagen that firms your skin, and magnesium keep your skin youthful and radiant.
Make a face pack of sandalwood and tomato juice. Sandalwood has antibacterial properties and promotes in skin brightening. Make a creamy paste of 1 teaspoon of tomato juice and 1 tablespoon of sandalwood. Slather it all over your face and neck and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water, apply this pack twice a week and welcome glowing skin.
4. As face mask:
Tomatoes are every good for dry skin ladies, as it helps in moisturizing the skin and removes dullness from the face. You can make a mask of tomato, mint leaves, malai. This will work on smoothing your skin and will remove pigmentation on your face. Use this weekly, twice and make your skin smooth, supple and ravishing.
5. As eye mask:
Tomatoes are great for removing dark circles, puffiness. Vitamin C helps in lightening the skin and prevent fine lines, crow's feet. Make a thick paste of tomato puree and honey and apply it under your eyes overnight. This will help in reducing the hateful dark circles and revitalize your eye area.
